Greenpeace takes another swipe at Facebook — for running its new Oregon data center partially on coal — with an eye-catching animated video calling on viewers to unfriend Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The video’s ultimately about unfriending coal, but Greenpeace takes aim at Zuckerberg, perhaps the world’s youngest billionaire, for dealing with a utility that burns the world’s dirtiest source of energy.

David wrote earlier this year that Facebook deserves some credit for locating its server farm in a temperate climate that requires less heating and cooling energy than other spots. But he applauded Greenpeace’s campaign because it reinforces that using coal should be socially unacceptable. It’s not something decent people should do. At least when they have a choice, as Zuckerberg does.
