Hacienda is a quartet out of San Antonio, Texas. They’ve been putting out albums since 2008, getting a reputation for great live shows. Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys heard one of their early demos and has been a big backer from early on.
Auerbach produced the band’s latest, Shakedown, and it’s a doozy. It’s got that Black Keys groovy propulsiveness, but a more poppy and wide-ranging sound, with hints of The Strokes and The Kinks.
Seems to me it hits the sweet spot of what people are into these days. I wonder if it will blow up. Regardless, it’s good! Here’s the first track, “Veronica.”
