Like the title says, Grist is now on the social music network Last.fm! We haven't gotten into releasing our own music (yet ... ) but our two most recent weekly podcasts are up there. More importantly, if you're a fan of Last.fm you should definitely scrobble the Grist podcast every time you listen to it. We want to see those listening metrics soar! A couple of podcasts for your commuting pleasure
I've run across these shows in the past couple days, and thought fellow Gristmill readers might like to hear them too. The first is Science Friday's "Hour One" from last week. There is a segment on carbon sequestration, which I have yet to form an opinion on, and also one on generating hydrogen. The second, which I'm actually listening to as we speak, is about the economic benefits of "going green." Apparently being environmentally conscious is a smart business move! Go figure. LinkedIn, a social network for professionals, is introduced today
From Mashable.com: Nonprofit organizations will be able to use LinkedIn as a platform for involving the LinkedIn community with their causes, leveraging the 11 million users that are present within the online community. Provided with this new feature are free badges to be placed on profiles, and registered nonprofits free job listings in order to find new members to join their teams. British rockstar James Blunt is already using LinkedIn to raise over $23,000 for Doctors Without Borders.
