There's a new kind of farmer in town. Colin McCrate is using his agricultural know-how to convert sprawling urban yards into edible bounty. He installs and maintains food gardens at homes and businesses through the Seattle Urban Farm Company, which he founded. His clients are varied, but as this audio slideshow tells, they agree with Colin on one thing: Eating your lawn isn’t just for bunnies.

After three years of studying philosophy at Middlebury College, Stephanie has decided to pursue a more lucrative career path in journalism.
