And now for your daily aww: Pre-K kids at the Mundo Verde school in Washington, D.C., have written the cutest letter ever, after their teacher asked “What can we do to protect trees?” The kids plan to send the letter to President Obama and their neighborhood library:

IT MELTS YOUR HEART.
IT MELTS YOUR HEART.

Mundo Verde is no ordinary school (as any Spanish speaker who translated its name to “Green World” might suspect). It’s basically the Portlandia of the education system, or in its words, “The first green-focused charter school in Washington, D.C.” I was gonna keep snarking on it, but it actually sounds pretty awesome:

Mundo Verde aims to foster high levels of academic achievement among a diverse group of students by preparing them to be successful and compassionate global stewards of their communities.  The engaging curriculum focuses on sustainability and biliteracy.

All Mundo Verde students learn to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish. Our immersive language program starts at age 3, when children learn languages easily, and continues through 8th grade.

And thus far it’s clearly succeeding in producing the cutest little environmentalists you ever saw. So basically every school should be Mundo Verde. Sold.
