This video, taken over four hours with a whole-sky camera and compressed to a rapid two minutes (plus a minute of introduction), makes the sky over Sweden look like the world’s best executive desk toy.

It’s the work of photographer Göran Strand, who spliced together nearly 2,500 photos of the particularly spectacular aurora that followed a March 17 solar flare. I don’t often want to live in Sweden — well, not until summer, anyway — but this sure makes it look tempting. At very least, it makes me happy to live on Earth.
