So OK, it’s not an orphaned baby thanking her caretaker; it’s an elephant born in captivity at Germany’s Hellabrunn Zoo. And she’s giving that zookeeper a head-butt and a trunk-hug not out of gratitude, but because this is apparently just how baby elephants show affection. Exhibit B:

We strenuously caution you not to let this new information spur you to break into a zoo, climb into the elephant closure, and try to get a li’l cuddle. You absolutely should not do this. We’re just saying we’d understand.
