Watch presidential candidates discuss climate and energy

On Nov. 17, 2007, Grist cosponsored the first-ever presidential candidate forum focusing on climate change and energy policy. Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Dennis Kucinich attended and spoke in-depth about their green platforms. (All Democratic and Republican presidential candidates were invited to attend.)

Presidential Forum

I'm disappointed that your intro photo only showed two of the three candidates. I like best the one you ignored, Dennis Kucinich; he speaks my mind.

In past elections a little tinkering around the edges might have been enough to keep the US on the right track. But we're so far off track now that we must step back and assess what our values really are.

Representative Kucinich expresses what I hope are not just my values but those of the rest of the country: return to constitutional government at the heart, and then the values the country always voted for until a few years ago. These include a good education system, a healthy environment, healthy people, honesty, sensible foreign policy, and good labor standards, to mention a few.

Obviously, considering my perspective, John Edwards is second in line. and as an editorial note, on page 22 you should attribute the statement he made to him and not to somebody else.

A real discussion involving the environment. I enjoyed every minute of it. Too bad the others didn't show. Makes me not happy with them at all.
