The Standing Rock Sioux say the pipeline would contaminate sacred burial grounds and could contaminate their main water source.
Shailene Woodley, an actress who joined the fight, argues in the video that many Americans are unaware of Thanksgiving’s real origins: “What is this chosen ignorance and blindness to the history of this country — and not only the history, but what’s happening today?”
