The last five years were — say it with me — the hottest five years on record.

The World Meteorological Organization published a report on Tuesday verifying that the half-decade from 2011 to 2015 was exceptionally hot. Like, really, really hot. Hotter than any five years since we started keeping track, in fact. How many times will we have to say this?

The report also looked at the weather during that time period (they are an organization of meteorologists after all). According to 79 studies of extreme weather events from heatwaves to hurricanes, more than half bore the fingerprints of human-induced climate change.
