The huge dust storm that pounded western Australia this week may be related to a record-breaking heat wave that has, among other things, made gasoline vaporize out of the pumps and forced the country to add two new colors to its heat forecasting maps. Or it may not. Maybe the dust storms and the wildfires and the heat and the floods and the giant snakes are all unrelated. Or maybe God just hates Australia. That’s looking increasingly likely.
