The UN committee tasked with drafting a global plastics treaty has published an outline that touches on reducing production, eliminating hazardous chemicals, propping up reuse and repurposing, and winding down single-use plastics like cutlery.

Thanks to a partnership with the nonprofit Climate Action Pathways, students at a high school in Porterville, California, can take part in paid internships that offer them hands-on training in how to reduce the district’s environmental impact.
