This would be a better story if it were a real turtle, maybe lying on a single old-fashioned roller skate and propelling himself along the floor with his flippers. But it’s just French prankster Rémi Gaillard, who enjoys injecting a little of the absurd into daily life, even at the cost of messing up this poor greengrocer’s floor.

Gaillard doesn’t have a particular environmental message or aim, but if he did, it would probably be something like “if we keep forcing animals out of their habitats, they’ll be forced to come into ours.” On the other hand, it could just as easily be “turtles: what assholes.”
