Castens on TV
The Chicago NBC affiliate recently interviewed Tom Casten about waste heat recovery. Granted, they chose the second-most attractive member of the Casten family for the eye-candy … but other than that, I think it’s a decent video.

Cloud Cult story the Weather Channel doesn’t want to share
ForecastEarth, the eco-focused show on the Weather Channel, did a great piece on the band Cloud Cult last week. (Follow Grist’s Cloud Cult obsession here.) However, they have chosen not to make the video embeddable on other sites, despite using a service that offers that option. That drives me nuts. So in a useless and […]

TV queen shows 10 million viewers the dark side of Chicken McNuggets
The chicken industry has had a rough year, its wings clipped by pricey feed, reduced demand, and financial trouble. Even after a recent rally, Pilgrim’s Pride — which slaughters and packs 24 percent of U.S. chicken — has seen its share price plunge nearly 90 percent. As if the industry didn’t have enough to squawk […]

King of the Hill takes on green
Last Sunday, Fox’s animated show King of the Hill ran an episode called “Earthy Girls Are Easy.” (You can watch the full episode here.) I was excited when I heard about it. KotH is a brilliant show, the only one on television that pokes fun at low-income rural white people in a way that is […]

But how many of them actually penetrate it?” asked Colbert. Watch the Colbert sketch: Now compare it to a real ad from Chevron:

Letterman rages on global warming
I am (slightly) less pessimistic than David Letterman. If, however, it is indeed “too late” as he says, then he has certainly nailed the reason: “We have had no leadership.” But I’m going to view the glass as one-tenth full and take it as a hopeful sign that somebody relatively mainstream like Letterman would break […]

Tony Blair talks climate change with Charlie Rose
This is a meaty discussion of climate change from ex-U.K. PM Blair, albeit colored by his timid, centrist, status-quo biases:

Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, again
This is brilliant in every conceivable way: Note the inclusion of verbatim passages from the actual Palin interview. It parodies itself.

How to green your entertainment center
When it comes to watching television, it’s practically your environmental duty to gaze at Adrian Grenier on Planet Green and cheer on Major League Baseball’s efforts to become more sustainable. (That’s what we tell ourselves, anyway.) But did you know the chemicals in that idiot box could be rotting your brain even more than the […]
