During 2024 Climate Week in New York, Grist hosted Better Worlds Ahead, a discussion with Stacey Abrams (Rewiring America) and Ayana Elizabeth Johnson (Urban Ocean Lab), along with Mother Jones, Rewiring America, and the Tishman Environment & Design Center at The New School. The event was supported by Concern Worldwide US, Dream.org, Oatly, Nia Capital, and WWF, and had a media partnership with Free Speech Television and WNYC

The two women and climate visionaries had an in-depth conversation about imagining better futures, remaining determined to find and support today’s climate solutions, and the need to exercise one’s climate voice as a voter. They even found joy in the moment with an impromptu rendition of Prince’s song, Seven.
