Many environmentalists and other activists who caused a ruckus during the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle late last year are planning to descend on Los Angeles next week to demonstrate during the Democratic National Convention. While some protestors strutted their stuff outside last week’s Republican National Convention, many progressive groups intend to raise a bigger stink at the DNC because they believe the Democratic Party, and the Clinton administration in particular, has been too quick to compromise on environmental and other issues. Enviros have also declared Aug. 14, which is the opening day of the convention, National Forest Protection Day, and they plan to mark the occasion with demonstrations in cities across the country.
