Greens in the French coalition government warned yesterday that they would quit the coalition if the cabinet proceeds with plans to replace aging nuclear plants with new reactors. The Greens plan to launch a series of protests in November against nuclear power, a campaign mirroring that of Greens in Germany’s coalition government. The French Greens will also challenge plans to build an underground laboratory to study the storage of nuclear waste at Bure in eastern France.
