Well, well, well. Who ever said that trashy romance novels couldn’t change an endangered species’ life?
Ferret-related plagiarism by romance novelist Cassie Edwards has brought the world more than just a discussion of the various outdoor places our readers like to get down and dirty. (But, um, that was very enlightening.) According to Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books, the site that started all the hoopla in the first place:
[Well-known romance novelist] Nora Roberts has volunteered to match up to $5,000.00 USD any donations made by Smart Bitches readers to Defenders of Wildlife, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to preserve not just ferrets but endangered wildlife across the US, most particularly that species much loved by paranormal romance writers: the wolf.
The offer expires January 31; some $2,200 has already been donated. So if you care it, ferret! Or something.
