“I like to sit under this tree and think of ways to crush new cool little mom and pop apps.”

Facebook has a lot of money. And it needs to do cool stuff with that money or it won’t make more money. Cue its new Frank Gehry-designed addition to its Menlo Park, Calif. headquarters, which features a giant green roof. Yes, Facebook is a little annoying what with its young, I-kill-my-own-animals-CEO and its “Lean-In” “feminism” and its ubiquitousness that we hate and have somehow also caused. But this 450,00o-square-foot green roof looks pretty nice.

It’s really more like Central Park on top of a building than a roof. It’s going to have a little trail. It’s going to have places to sit around and talk about Facebook stuff.  It’s even going to have a café where employees can eat food that will fuel their minds to create amazing new Facebook ideas, and coffee that will enable them to poop out the lowercase white f’s they all poop out.  The green roof is even going to have a special section called “The Lean In Lean-To” that is a tribute to both the structure and the bestselling book. That part’s not true. But it is going to have just about everything else. If this green roof had a status update it would be: “Hey, other green roofs! Suck it! I am the master!”
