If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to almost get flattened by a collapsing glacier, now you can find out. This boat was right in the line of fire — er, ice — so this video is the next best thing to being there. Actually, it’s the first best thing, because being there looks like it was terrifying.
The video was shot near Ilulissat, Greenland, and shit starts getting real about 50 seconds in. The glacier spews an avalanche of ice towards the boat where the cameraperson is sitting, causing a tidal wave that really knocks the craft for a loop. (Everyone’s fine, but you can hear things breaking, and the boat ends up facing the opposite way.) Moral: Just because a glacier has a pretty face, that doesn’t mean it won’t mess you up.
