Rapper Flava FlavThe king of chicken?Photo: oceanofstarsLook out, KFC: Flav’s Fried Chicken is coming for you. Flava Flav, that rapper from Public Enemy who wears the big clock around his neck, this week opened his first fried chicken joint in Clinton, Iowa. And more are on the way! You scoff, but Mr. Flav doesn’t just date ladies on VH1’s “Flavor of Love” — the man has a culinary degree and promised to work the fryer on occasion. “You’re gonna catch me in here flourin’ up my chicken,” he vows in a video.

It gets better:

In November, the 51-year-old rapper announced he was opening a line of flavored vodkas to include bubblegum and sweet tea as well as a fried chicken operation.

“The Colonel better watch his back, G! The Colonel might end up in my fryer!” he was quoted by several online sources.

Nothing like some bubblegum vodka to wash down those crispy tenders. Let’s hope the Colonel doesn’t end up in anybody‘s fryer, though — KFC’s part of Yum! brands, which also owns Taco Bell. And the recent beef controversy is all too fresh in our minds.

You’re gonna use organic, free-range chicken, right, Flav? The man doesn’t say, but he does insist that FFC will “blow up your tastebuds.” Watch:
