The secret here is a stripped-down computer called a Raspberry Pi, which sounds like it would not go that well with beets. A Raspberry Pi costs like 40 bucks, and the source code for the Beetbox is available online, so if you are electronically inclined you can try your hand at making one of these. Or you can just roast the beets and eat them while you play Rock Band. Either way.
