This photo, though, taken from the International Space Station by ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano, uses an unconventional perspective and a close-up view that make it look more like a work of abstract art.

The most striking part might be how pristine the ocean looks from low orbit. Apparently all we needed to do to clean up the planet was zoom out a little.
