ariel pink's haunted graffiti

Ariel Pink got his start in the Los Angeles low-fi freak folk scene, which I know nothing about. Recently, though, he put a stable band together, the Haunted Graffiti, and earlier this year put out an album, Before Today.

It’s a confounding, addictive melange of ’80s synth pop, goth, metal, new wave, and disco that surprises at every turn. Repeat listens are rewarded. This is their first single, “Round and Round” — hold on to the two-minute mark for the chorus of the year.
