The Northwest Connector took you across the Georgia state line and into the Panhandle. Cora was headed to Crawfordville, the county seat of Wakulla County. She didn’t know where the other folks were headed. There were only a few of them anyways, and they all sat near the back. The driver had left the air conditioner on, and cool air played across her forehead. The people behind her chatted away. She didn’t know what they were talking, but they were Black like her.
