After reuniting onstage Sunday at the Grammy Awards, The Police have announced a world tour that will begin May 28 in Vancouver and continue across North America, Europe, South America, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. The band has confirmed the first 14 dates, including two performances at Madison Square Garden and a headlining show at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June.
Portions of the proceeds (tickets will average about $100) will be donated to WaterAid, an international charity “dedicated to helping people escape the stranglehold of poverty and disease caused by living without safe water and sanitation.”
