Apparently it’s National Cat Day, which is sort of a nonsensical phrase to anyone who spends as much time on the internet as we do (isn’t that kind of like declaring a National Oxygen Day?). But whatever, we’re not complaining, because in honor of this near-tautological holiday the ASPCA, Uber, and the Cheezburger network are teaming up for a limited-time kitten delivery service. Yes. They will bring kittens to your office for you to cuddle.

Uber drivers in New York, San Francisco and Seattle will transport the kittens, accompanied by shelter volunteers as chaperones, from each city’s partner shelter. As a thank you for every visit, Cheezburger is including a delivery of designer cupcakes created by celebrity pastry chef Duff Goldman, star of Ace of Cakes on The Food Network.  In addition to the proceeds from each kitten visit, Cheezburger will make an additional donation to all three participating shelters.

Reader support helps sustain our work. Donate today to keep our climate news free. All donations DOUBLED!

Yes, that’s right, it is possible to offer a service so exciting that cupcake delivery is the BORING part.

It’s only $20 to call the Kitten Car for 15 minutes of snuggletime, and all the proceeds go to local shelters. So get out your Uber app and order up a kitten party!

Grist thanks its sponsors. Become one.
