Yet another ridiculous billboard campaign featuring psychos
Apparently the political discourse in this country is irrational enough that one anti-green billboard campaign featuring megalomaniacs will not satisfy our craving for crazy. No, there have to be two billboard campaigns in one month that cast aspersions on good ideas by associating them with crazy dudes that no one likes. We present to you: […]

Critical List: Wind farms cause temperature changes; the problem with sardines
Wind farms can lift local temperatures. President Obama made a couple of jokes about eating dog meat at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Eating sardines may not be the best idea for the environment. Germany’s clean jobs initiative is flagging. Cute animal code red! The koala’s a threatened species in Australia.

Critical List: A blueprint for a ‘bioeconomy’; urban chicken retirement
The Obama administration is going to release a blueprint for a “bioeconomy” — an idea that includes renewable energy and biological manufacturing. Critical List: Emperor penguin population double previous estimates; a new fracking working group

It’s World Water Day: How much do you use? (The average American household uses 350 gallons. I KNOW.) Obama is set to expedite the southern leg of the Keystone XL pipeline. The Supreme Court decided that the couple who wants to fight the EPA over whether their property counts as a wetland can go ahead […]

Critical List: Tariffs for imported Chinese solar panels; Obama to visit solar facility
The Department of Commerce announced that China was selling solar panels at unfairly low prices in the U.S. and that it would slap tariffs on them. Obama’s on an “all-of-the-above” energy tour today: He’ll stop at a solar facility and at oil and gas fields. The New York Times reported Sunday that the U.S. Department […]

Critical List: More people have safe drinking water; Asia’s pollution is hitting the U.S.
The U.N. met its Millennium Development Goal to halve the number of people without safe drinking water. President Obama is giving a press conference this afternoon — the first in months. It’s supposed to be about mortgage relief, but odds are someone will ask him about gas prices, too. Twenty percent of ground pollution in […]
