Sand sculpture of 500 Santa Clauses has an environmental message, somehow

Sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik and 30 of his students carved 500 Santa Clauses (and one Jesus) into a beach in Puri, India. They were aiming to break a world record:

But also to send a message about global warming:

Pattnaik told India Education Diary:

I always try to give some awareness messages through my sculpture to the world so I chose the awareness about global warming through Santas as the subject of the year end.

A post-warming world would have sand Santas instead of snow Santas, I guess? Sure, sounds reasonable. But they should be wearing bikinis.
