Goths have been communing with nature since way before all you hippies. They commune with nature in much the same way as they commune with gravestones, i.e. by draping themselves over it in corsets and taking pictures. Maybe I just love the Goths Up Trees Tumblr because I've committed a goth-in-a-tree photo or two in my time, but also it's hilarious. Here's the caption for the photo above:

I don’t think anything needs to be said about this photo because it ticks every single box plus Pi but, fuckit, I’m going to say it anyway.

Ruins! Smoke (or fog)! Ivy! Goth girl reclining on horizontal tree branches! Panne velvet! Cape! Opera gloves! WAHOO!

Who loves panne velvet more than me? Pretty much everyone in the universe. This girl is wearing all of it. I’ve never seen so much panne velvet on one person so she gets all of the points. I can’t help but think that this girl was posing on a normal vertical tree which then keeled over due to too much panne velvet and killed her in the process, hence the dead look in her eye and the slightly awkward pose.

5 out of 5 – Beware the panne velvet.
