This is for all you loyal readers out there who turn to Gristmill, day in and day out, for your recommended daily intake of leafy green commentary. Actually, this is a shameless plug for anyone who kinda sorta likes and/or reads Grist/Gristmill.
Give a little bloggy love in return by nominating Grist’s own blog, Gristmill, for one of the following categories in the 8th Annual Weblog Awards, aka the 2008 Bloggies.
The illustrious, insightful, and ever-so-modest Gristmill blog is eligible for (and dare we suggest, most deserving of) the following categories:
- Weblog of the Year
- Best American Weblog
- Best Writing of a Weblog
- Best Topical Weblog (because for some reason "Best Environmental Weblog" is not a category, wtf?)
Be warned, however, that when you make a nomination, you must submit at least three different weblogs per ballot (well, two different blogs other than Gristmill). The nomination period ends this Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at precisely the digital stroke of 10:00 p.m. EST.
Obviously, the more nominations Gristmill receives, the better chance we have of making it to the final voting session, which starts Jan. 22 and ends Jan 31, 2008.
What’s in it for the winners, you might wonder? Perhaps honor? Prestige? Wealth? Oh, no, no, no. Simply the satisfaction of a blog well run and possibly an extra 2,007 cents (US$20.07) if we make Weblog of the Year. And after all, that might buy us a yummy organic pizza.
