‘Eco-terrorism’: Even the liberal Stranger …
Here in Seattle we have an alternative weekly called The Stranger, with a clever feature called I, Anonymous, wherein some unnamed someone lambastes some unnamed someone else over ... something. Viciously. It's short and amusing.
Anyway, the paper's online forums have an I, Anonymous message board. This was posted there today (tucked away beneath the fold, for those offended by foul language, of which there is much):

America and Christian destiny
Who said this?
Environmentalists' energy plan is the repudiation of America and Christian destiny, which is jet skis, steak on the electric grill, hot showers, and night skiing.
No, not James Robertson or James Inhofe, but the media's favorite ha-ha fascist, Ann Coulter.
In this video (below the fold) of Coulter being interviewed by a BBC journalist, he starts off with this gem:
Ann Coulter, your publicist gave us chapter one. I've read it. Does it get any better?

Dirty words
Want a laugh on this Friday afternoon? Check out this interview between Pat Robertson and Sen. James Inhofe about "far-left environmentalists." A real meeting of the minds.

I recommend, except for the dirty words, a great book written by Michael Crichton.

Time to call in “the governing body”
I like this idea of a wildlife governing body. It would have to have teeth of course; laws without a means of enforcing them are meaningless. Governments could no longer claim they don't have the funds to stop illegal logging or land use if they could just call in the "governing body." Think of it as the conservation branch of the U.N., dedicated to preventing biodiversity loss instead of preventing wars.
