Rich people have more expensive toxins than we working-class types do, and now research shows they’re also worse drivers (and more narcissistic, but that’s another story). Sayeth Streetsblog:

People driving luxury cars are more likely to fail to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk and to engage in other unethical, antisocial behavior, according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Now, this could be because they aren’t actually rich but stole the luxury car and are trying to make a speedy getaway. Right? Benefit of the doubt? (Or rich people are just dicks.) If you needed an official-looking graph to convince you, here it is:

By way of explanation, the authors wrote: “Upper-class individuals’ relative independence from others and increased privacy in their professions may provide fewer structural constraints and decreased perceptions of risk associated with committing unethical acts.”

See: Enron, the NSA, any scandal involving high-status people doing shitty things and somehow mentally excusing themselves. The medium chill is looking better and better.
