The Environmental Protection Agency will host a public hearing this week on California’s request for a waiver to set tougher tailpipe emissions standards. The hearing will be held on Thursday, March 5, in Arlington, Va. It is part of the public comment process on their decision to reconsider the state’s petition. Here are the deets, from the EPA:

What: EPA will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 5 in Arlington, Va., regarding the agency’s reconsideration of California’s request to regulate greenhouse gases from automobiles.

Where: EPA Potomac Yard South Conference Center, 2777 Crystal Drive, Room S-1204, Arlington, VA 22202.

When: Thursday, March 5, 9:30 a.m. and will continue into the afternoon to accommodate all members of the public who wish to comment.

Written comments will be accepted until April 6, 2009. EPA will consider written comments submitted during the comment period with the same weight as oral comments presented during the public hearing.
