Rise AgainstFrom peta2.com, PETA’s youth-oriented site, we learn of a new music video by Rise Against intended to “[show] everyone what goes on in the world and what people are doing to this planet and to animals.”

According to band member Tim McIlrath:

Reader support helps sustain our work. Donate today to keep our climate news free. All donations DOUBLED!

It is the most important video Rise Against has ever made. This video transcends our band and our music and talks about a much bigger picture, a picture that affects each of us. I hope people check this video out and then share it with their friends and loved ones. We are all witnesses to the suffering that our planet and its people endure, and the only question now is: What will we do about it?

In addition to the raw (graphic) footage of animal cruelty, the video also contains clips of strip mines, logging and ends with the group jamming in a clear-cut forest. According to PETA, the original version is too graphic for television. I guess people are afraid of the truth (or find it too depressing).

Grist thanks its sponsors. Become one.
