thanks mr. helicopter

Thanks Mr. Helicopter.

When a deer is stuck on a frozen lake, would you think to call a helicopter? I wouldn’t, but luckily the Nova Scotian authorities who recently used the blast off of a low-flying helicopter to push a stranded deer to safety are more creative than I am.

Watch nature and technology dance their beautiful dance:

Retired biologist Ian Waugh spotted the doe and her fawn stuck on the ice in Nova Scotia’s Antigonish Harbor. The fawn managed to make it to safety, but its mother remained unable to move, and the ice was too thin for her to be rescued on foot. But the helicopter got her moving and eventually she made it to safety. Yay deer! Yay helicopter! Boo fawn for abandoning your mother!
