Is that a sapling in your pants, or …? In the same vein as Fuck for Forest, Pornhub wants to use sex to make America a little greener.
In honor of Arbor Day, the porn site launched “Pornhub Gives America Wood.” Like, literally — for every 100 videos watched in its “Big Dick” category, the site will plant a tree. (The campaign continues through Friday, so get watchin’!) It’s a pretty big sacrifice, but so far that’s added up to 1.36 million views, or 13,633 trees planted. “While you’re watching some nice pieces of ash, you’ll also be helping to spruce America up!” the site promises.
Porn that saves the planet isn’t new — our fave Norwegian activists have been doin’ the dirty for over a decade, donating more than $180,000 to reforest Costa Rica and Ecuador in two years alone. “We have about 1,000 members on [our website] every month, and have the last three years raised about $350,000,” the founders told Grist’s Katharine Wroth in 2008.
But if WATCHING porn is too onerous, you can also help plant trees by pulling a Belle Knox. As Fuck for Forest says, “If you like FFF, please think about sending us some erotic images of you and friends.” Adam and Eve leaves optional.
