Grist leadership is pleased to announce a new hire on its innovation and growth team, which is responsible for distributing stories across social media, newsletters, third-party news sites, and other news sites. Justin Ray will serve as the team’s senior audience producer, working on the team’s presence on social platforms and newsletters. 

Ray comes from the Los Angeles Times where he served as an audience editor and later wrote the daily flagship newsletter, Essential California. Prior to that position, he worked at Columbia Journalism Review and NBC. Ray will not only manage Grist’s social presence, but he will also take the lead on content SEO and newsletter experimentation.
