You may have noticed that this week’s installment of our series Woman Crush Wednesday never … installed. That’s because Woman Crush Wednesday, which has featured a really, truly awesome lineup of women doing incredible things in the green and green-ish sphere over the past five months, is coming to an end. Madeleine Thomas, our Grist senior fellow who pioneered the series and perennial #wcw, will be ending her fellowship this week and moving on to write for Pacific Standard.

While you — and we — are likely very sad to see Madeleine and our weekly dose of girl crushin’ go, fear not! We’ll still be making sure that the women shining in our subject areas are rightly spotlighted. We’ll also, of course, continue our discussion of issues like reproductive rights, which affect the environment just as much as they affect women.

Reader support makes our work possible. Donate today to keep our site free. All donations DOUBLED!

And if you know of any rad lady artists, scientists, activists, or anyone else that you’d like to see featured on Grist, shoot me an email. We want to know about them too, as do the rest of our readers!

On that note, a closing thought:
